BRING ON 2015!

It's that time of year where I get philosophical about life. There's something nostalgic about the end of a year. It might be the tide of well wishers on Facebook, or the smart-alec emails people send.
There have been a few posts of disappointment regarding not having met financial or waistline goals during 2014.

Let me be Suzi Downer for a moment and confess that most New Years Eves have been doused in disappointment, add a dash or boredom, and a pinch of crazy and you've got a swinging-pity-party on your hands. It's been so bad the last few years I haven't even written New Years resolutions, my only hope being that the following year would not suck as bad as the previous one.

This New Years Eve? Well, it's two hours from midnight and I'm trying to convince my little brother to watch 21 Jump Street with me. That might seem pretty terrible, but it's ok. In fact life is pretty great. Is it better than last year? I honestly don't know, but I do have a better attitude about it. How I think about things makes all the difference.

I'm writing New Years resolutions this year. My first resolution is to look for the positive in every situation. I want to enjoy my daughter's smile, play more, worry less, be more grateful and less whiney.
To steal a line from Augustus Waters (The Fault In Our Stars by John Green), "It's a good life." It really is a good life. I want to appreciate it, how about you?

Here is my spin on the meme I've been seeing online. Can you relate?
